What Are Old People For Student Project – 3/21/2013
On October 23-25th 2013, in Springfield, IL the Illinois Pioneer Coalition will hold our 10th Annual Summit. One of the summit’s goals will be to identify ways to change the culture of long- term care. We want your students to be advocates for this change by asking them: What are old people for? We believe their answers will inspire the state and national attendees of this conference to begin meaningful and reflective conversations about how to start this change. We understand the importance of utilizing valuable classroom time to teach the necessary skills to a group of individuals.
We are asking for a one-word answer, sentence, creative essay or even a short video to the prompt. If you would like further information and ideas, please visit the link on our website www.illinoispioneercoalition.org or explore www.changingaging.org , created by an international authority on geriatric medicine and eldercare Dr. Bill Thomas. Responses are due September 12, 2013, and can be sent to Ms. Leslie Pedtke, Illinois Pioneer Coalition, 450 W. 1st Street, Aviston, IL 62216 or email the responses to firstname.lastname@example.org
These responses will be displayed for conference attendees to view as they pass through our vendor room. Finally, our Board of Directors will select three responses to be shared by the student themselves at the conference in the Crowne Plaza.
